I’ve heard a lot about developing or breaking a habit thingie in 30 days but I haven’t heard of any successful story out of it.
Well, for me it didn’t work. I haven’t heard of anyone who developed a studying habit by studying 30 days before the exam or breaking his laziness habit by going to school for 30 days.
Is developing a new habit in 30 days a lie?
Every habit is difficult to develop or to break at the beginning. If you commit yourself to do a new habit for 30 days, it becomes easier for you to continue with it. However, that doesn’t make you out of control of choosing what to do after the 30 days.
Stop focusing on the 30 days, a lot of people already find it difficult to commit themselves to do something new or to leave something they are used to do for 30 days in a row.
On the other hand, some habits are not healthy to do 30 days in a row non-stop like going to the gym and lifting weights.
Is there any way I can develop a new habit or breaking a bad habit?

Everyone talks about having a clear goal and a clear objective but they forget to discuss on the motivational factor.
Adam and Hassan has to submit their assignment by 30th May.
Adam and Hassan want to get a high grade in their assignments (Goal)
Adam and Hassan are afraid of missing their deadline (30th May) and are afraid to get zero marks in their assignments (Motivational Factor)
Only Adam has the motivation to start his assignment early so that he could finish his work excellently (Motivational Factor)
So, Adam starts working on his assignment everyday from 1st April and Hassan starts working on his assignment on 22nd May.
If there was no deadline for their assignment, other motivational factors would play a part in their work. For example, Adam might like to finish his work as fast as possible to be free and Hassan might like to leave his assignment at the end of the year and focus on other work in his meantime.
How do I apply?!
As you go after your goal, something (motivational factor) has to go after you.
You need to know yourself; some people work by negative motivations and some work by positive motivations.
If you want to continue exercising in the gym, you may need to realise how much money you would lose when you miss an exercise, or how many calories would you gain when you skip an exercise, or maybe you need to realise that you get motivated by meeting fit people you like at the gym or you get energetic after you exercise.
